Muttaqi: Afghanistan Source of Stability, Not Threat
DID Press: Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s acting foreign minister, said during a press conference following Moscow Format Consultative Meeting that Afghanistan has transformed from a security threat into a source of regional stability.

Muttaqi said that participating countries expressed optimism about the Islamic Emirate’s achievements in combating terrorism and drug trafficking.
He described the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen regional cooperation and noted that “over the past four years, no incident from Afghanistan has posed a threat to regional security.”
The Taliban foreign minister added that Islamic State group (Daesh) and other terrorist organizations no longer present in Afghanistan, emphasizing that Taliban government is ready to cooperate with neighboring countries to eliminate such groups entirely.
Muttaqi also thanked Russia for inviting the Taliban delegation to Moscow Format meeting and for its “positive engagement” with Afghan government.
