Kremlin Warns US Over Possible Tomahawk Delivery to Ukraine

DID Press: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned on Sunday that the potential delivery of U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine could have “serious consequences,” emphasizing that operating such advanced weapons would inevitably require the involvement of American personnel.

“Working with such sophisticated missiles unavoidably involves U.S. specialists — that is an obvious fact,” Peskov said in response to a social media post by Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of Russia’s Security Council.

Medvedev had earlier written on the Russian social platform Max that transferring Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv “would benefit no one” and “could end badly for everyone.”

He also repeated that it would be impossible to determine whether a Tomahawk launched toward Russia carried a nuclear or conventional warhead — a risk Moscow has frequently highlighted.

Medvedev added: “It is not the ‘Banderites’ of Kyiv who would launch them, but the United States itself.”
The term Banderite refers to followers of Stepan Bandera, a controversial Ukrainian nationalist figure. While Russians use it as a pejorative term meaning “Ukrainian fascist,” many Ukrainians see it as a symbol of patriotism and resistance.
