Taliban Stress Transparency in Truce Deal with Pakistan

DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Defense has issued an official statement clarifying the details of the recent ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, stressing that the accord strictly covers a ceasefire, mutual respect, and refraining from any hostile actions between the two sides.

According to the statement, Doha ceasefire agreement includes commitments to maintaining the truce, respecting each other’s sovereignty, avoiding attacks on security forces, civilians, or infrastructure, resolving disputes through dialogue, and refraining from supporting any hostile activities.

The ministry further asserted that “any statements beyond the agreed provisions are invalid, and the official stance of the Islamic Emirate is strictly based on these terms.”

This clarification comes after Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, had earlier claimed that the terms of the ceasefire agreement with the Taliban government are confidential.
