Afghanistan, Kazakhstan Sign $360mln Trade Deals

DID Press: Afghanistani and Kazakh businesses signed cooperation agreements worth over $360 million on the sidelines of the Afghanistan–Kazakhstan Business Forum held in Shymkent city, marking a new step in strengthening economic ties between Kabul and Astana.

According to official sources, the agreements were concluded during bilateral (B2B) meetings between entrepreneurs and investors from both countries within the framework of the business forum.

The deals aim to boost exports, expand industrial cooperation, and facilitate exchanges in key sectors including agriculture, construction materials, energy, and transit services.

Economic analysts say the agreements can enhance Afghanistan’s position in regional economic connectivity across Central Asia and help balance trade with Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan remains one of Afghanistan’s largest suppliers of grain and petroleum products and has sought to play a more active role in regional markets in recent years.
