The U.N says that more than 101,000 immigrants have reached the European coast through the Mediterranean Sea since the beginning of the year, which 2,250 people are drowned in this dangerous route.
Most of these refugees are from African countries and Syria, according to (DW).
In the first half of 2016, about 232,000 immigrants arrived in Europe by boat, the report added.
The reason for the decline of asylum-seekers by sea is blocking the Balkan route.
In addition, the EU-Turkey agreement on immigration, has affected the decline of immigrants too.
