Tehran Talks Concludes; Emphasis on Regional Unity and Rejection of Foreign Military Presence

DID Press: The meeting of special representatives of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in Tehran concluded with the release of a joint statement.

The participants emphasized regional convergence and the role of the region in addressing Afghanistan’s challenges, while rejecting any foreign military presence in the country.

It was also agreed that the fifth meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries would be held as soon as possible in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
