Afghanistan to Suspend Embassy Operations in Tokyo
DID Press: Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Japan announced that it will suspend its activities in Tokyo after the end of January.

In a statement released on Friday, the embassy said the decision was made in consultation with Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the statement, all political, economic, cultural, and consular activities of the embassy will be halted from January 31 until further notice.
Despite the Taliban’s control over many Afghan embassies in the region, the Tokyo mission has so far been operated by the ambassador and diplomats appointed by the previous Afghan government.
