DID Press: John Mearsheimer, a prominent American political theorist, sharply criticized Washington’s current policies, saying the United States has entered a phase of internal decay as it disregards the rules of the international system.
According to Mearsheimer, U.S. foreign policy today represents a rushed attempt to re-assert dominance over a world that is rapidly slipping beyond Washington’s control.
He stressed that as the United States intensifies military actions that violate international law, it is simultaneously distancing itself from key European allies — a trend that, in his view, exposes the country’s structural crisis and accelerating decline in global power.
