Iran Offers Mediation to De-escalate Afghanistan–Pakistan Tensions

DID Press: spokesperson of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tehran is fully prepared to assist in preventing an escalation of tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Speaking at a media briefing, Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran stands ready to step in to help contain rising frictions between the two neighboring countries. He expressed concern over the current situation and underscored that Iran has consistently advocated peaceful relations among regional states and is willing to cooperate to reduce tensions and preserve regional stability.

Baghaei described Iran’s relations with Afghanistan as positive and reiterated Tehran’s longstanding support for peace and stability in the country. Responding to questions about recent developments along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border, he said Iran is closely monitoring the situation and is prepared to work with both sides to prevent any further escalation of the crisis.
