Pakistan Conditions Talks with Taliban on Elimination of Terrorist Bases in Afghanistan
DID Press: Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistan Army, stated that Islamabad is willing to engage in talks with the Taliban, but only if terrorist groups are dismantled and wanted individuals are handed over.

Speaking at a press briefing, Chaudhry said, “Without eliminating terrorist bases and confronting active groups in Afghanistan, no dialogue with the Taliban will take place.” He accused the Taliban of providing sanctuary to militant organizations, describing this as a major obstacle to bilateral relations.
The spokesperson also noted that Pakistani forces have targeted weapons depots and drone stockpiles in Kabul in response to cross-border attacks originating from Afghanistan. Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan remains determined to secure its borders and prevent militants from using Afghan territory to launch attacks against its forces.
Repeated concerns over rising cross-border attacks highlight Islamabad’s insistence that meaningful negotiations and cooperation hinge on Taliban action against terrorist networks.
