Flash Floods in Herat Affect 80 Families, Aid Efforts Underway
DID Press: Severe floods in Afghanistan’s Herat province have impacted approximately 80 families, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding, damaging homes and roads in several areas.

IOM emergency teams are on the ground assessing immediate needs and providing urgent assistance, including food, clean water, and clothing, to help affected families cope with the crisis.
Local authorities have warned that water levels may continue to rise, posing further risks, and have urged residents to avoid high-risk areas and remain vigilant.
