Syria’s Al-Shar’ Pledges Neutrality, Emphasizes Regional Cooperation
DID Press: Ahmad Al-Shar’, head of Syria’s current government, stated after Eid al-Fitr prayers at the People’s Palace in Damascus that the country is taking cautious steps to remain distant from ongoing regional conflicts.

“We are witnessing an unprecedented event in history… Syria is proceeding carefully to avoid involvement in any hostilities,” Al-Shar’ said. He highlighted that while Syria has been a battleground for conflicts over the past 15 years and beyond, today the country maintains understanding with neighboring states and the international community, while showing solidarity with Arab nations.
Al-Shar’ emphasized that Syria has entered a “new phase,” transitioning from a zone of conflict to an active contributor to domestic and regional stability and security.
