DID Press: Russian newspaper Izvestia reported that Islamabad has formally requested Moscow to act as a mediator to resolve its disputes with the Taliban government.

According to the report, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s ambassador to Russia, confirmed in an interview with the newspaper that Pakistan officially sought Russia’s assistance in facilitating a resolution with the Taliban.
He also noted that Pakistan, considering proposals from Russia, China, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, has agreed to a temporary ceasefire.
