DID Press: China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday (March 30, 2026) that it has decided to take countermeasures against Keiji Furuya, a member of Japan’s House of Representatives.

According to the ministry, Furuya repeatedly visited Taiwan despite China’s strong objections and collaborated with pro-independence forces. Beijing says these actions seriously violate the “One China” principle and the spirit of four political documents between China and Japan, interfere in China’s internal affairs, and threaten the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
China’s Measures Include:
- Seizure of any movable or immovable property and other assets of Furuya in China
- Prohibition on transactions, cooperation, or activities with him by organizations and individuals within China
- Visa denial and ban on entry to Chinese territory, including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau
These measures came into effect today, March 30, 2026.
