DID Press: The British newspaper The Guardian has described US President Donald Trump’s threats against Iran as hollow and characterized the stated objectives of his military campaign as contradictory.

According to the analysis, Trump launched the so-called “Epic Wrath” operation in coordination with Israel, aiming to achieve multiple declared objectives, including the destruction of Iran’s missile program, its naval forces, and preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
However, the Guardian notes that just one month into the operation, Trump’s goals have become both narrower and increasingly inconsistent.
The newspaper also highlighted Trump’s shifting positions on oil and control of the Strait of Hormuz. Initially asserting that “the war has nothing to do with oil,” Trump later stated that the United States must “take oil and gain wealth.”
The Guardian added that Trump at times declared the conflict nearly over, yet in other speeches threatened weeks of attacks on Iranian infrastructure, demonstrating fluctuating stances, including over reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
