Nationwide Polio Vaccination Campaign to Launch in Afghanistan Next Week

DID Press: Afghanistan Polio-Free Organization has announced that a new nationwide polio vaccination campaign will begin next Monday (13 April 2026) across Afghanistan.

According to the announcement, the program will be implemented broadly in all provinces except Daykundi Province and Bamyan Province, where the campaign has been postponed due to cold weather conditions.

Officials from the organization emphasized the critical importance of the campaign, stating that protecting children’s health and achieving the complete eradication of Polio requires strong cooperation and support from families.

The statement called on all parents to vaccinate their children, stressing that community participation plays a decisive role in preventing the spread of this dangerous disease.

Citizens were also informed that they can obtain further information by calling the toll-free hotline number 141.
