Taliban’s Ministry of Virtue Arrests Group Over Extortion of Citizens
DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice announced the arrest of a group accused of extorting money from citizens.

Saif‑ul‑Islam Khyber, spokesperson for the ministry, stated on Wednesday that the group had been threatening and extorting individuals using their private photos and videos.
According to him, the members pressured victims by accessing personal information and files, demanding payments in exchange for not releasing the content.
The spokesperson added that the individuals were apprehended following identification and pursuit by the relevant authorities, and preliminary investigations have begun.
He emphasized that combating moral crimes and the misuse of citizens’ private information remains a top priority for the ministry and urged the public to report any such incidents to the responsible authorities.
