Finnish President Compares Iran’s Control of Strait of Hormuz to “Real Nuclear Weapon”

DID Press: President of Finland has said that Iran’s strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz is comparable to a “real nuclear weapon,” citing its potential impact on global energy security.

He stated that Iran’s position over the vital shipping route gives it significant leverage in regional power dynamics, particularly in the event of a confrontation with Israel or the United States.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical energy transit chokepoints, through which a large share of global oil shipments pass. Any disruption could have immediate consequences for international energy markets.

The Finnish president further noted that Iran currently holds multiple strategic tools that could play a decisive role in regional geopolitical developments.

The remarks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with analysts warning that any escalation could threaten global energy security and market stability.
