$180M in Aid Distributed to 650,000 Orphans, Widows and Disabled Persons in One Year
DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs announced that over the past year more than 12.6 billion Afghanis were disbursed through the banking system to hundreds of thousands of orphans, widows, and persons with disabilities, alongside food and non-food assistance valued at nearly $10 million delivered to vulnerable families.

The ministry reported that a total of 12.6 billion Afghanis was allocated to approximately 650,000 orphans, widows, and individuals with disabilities across the country during the past year.
Mufti Faisal, spokesperson for the ministry, stated that the assistance has been provided on a monthly basis through the banking system to eligible beneficiaries, with the distribution process continuing nationwide.
According to the official, in the Afghan fiscal year 1404, the ministry, in cooperation with charitable organizations and foundations, also delivered food and non-food assistance worth $9.791 million to families in need. The support packages included essential food supplies and relief items for households facing severe economic hardship.
Ministry officials emphasized that the objective of these programs is to provide sustainable support to vulnerable groups and reduce economic pressure on families affected by war, poverty, or disability who require ongoing assistance.
