TAPI Gas Pipeline Advances in Herat as 44 km Completed

DID Press: Spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced significant progress in the TAPI gas pipeline project in western Afghanistan’s Herat province.

Homaayoun Afghan, spokesperson for the ministry, said the implementation of the TAPI pipeline project is progressing rapidly in Herat.

He stated that 44 kilometers of pipeline construction have been completed so far in the province, with pipe-laying work in this section now finished.

He added that an additional 124 kilometers of the route have been prepared for further development, with technical and implementation work currently underway.

The TAPI project is considered one of the most important regional energy initiatives, positioning Afghanistan as a key transit corridor for natural gas transport.
