John Kerry: Three US Presidents Rejected Netanyahu’s Push for War on Iran

DID Press: Former US Secretary of State John Kerry has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously proposed military action against Iran to multiple US presidents, but was repeatedly turned down.

Speaking in a televised interview, Kerry stated that Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Joe Biden all rejected the idea of launching a war against Iran.

He said: “Obama said no. Bush said no. President Biden also said no. I was present in all of these discussions.”

Kerry added that the main reason for the refusals was that diplomatic and peaceful options regarding Iran had not yet been fully explored.

He also drew parallels with the Vietnam and Iraq wars, warning against decisions that lead to military conflict without transparent communication with the American public.

The remarks come amid renewed media reports in the United States discussing internal debates over Middle East policy and decision-making dynamics involving Israel and Washington.

Some US outlets have also reported political tensions linked to discussions between former President Donald Trump and Israeli leadership, as well as internal disagreements within the US administration over Iran policy.

In a related development, US Vice President JD Vance reportedly expressed skepticism in a phone call with Netanyahu regarding assessments about potential regime change in Iran.
