Deadly Delhi Fire Kills 9, Injures Several

DID Press: A major fire in a residential building in New Delhi has left at least nine people dead and several others injured, authorities confirmed.

The blaze broke out early Sunday morning in the Vivek Vihar area of Shahdara district. Police said the incident was reported at around 3:48 a.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency teams.

Fire officials stated that the flames engulfed the second, third, and fourth floors of the building. The fire was brought under control by approximately 8 a.m., though cooling operations are ongoing to prevent reignition.

Authorities confirmed that multiple victims were transported to hospital, where nine fatalities have been recorded so far.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is underway.
