Herat Residents Donate $650,000 to Gaza Relief Efforts

DID Press: Authorities in western Afghanistan’s Herat province say local residents have raised more than $650,000 in humanitarian aid for Gaza, with donations continuing to grow.

Organizers of the public fundraising campaign in Herat stated that the collected funds have been gathered through contributions from traders, business owners, families, and local community groups, each donating according to their financial capacity.

According to officials, the assistance is being sent in a targeted manner to affected areas in Gaza, particularly Rafah, where distribution is prioritized for the most vulnerable families.

Local authorities emphasized that the campaign is continuing despite economic challenges inside Afghanistan, describing the strong public participation as a sign of solidarity with civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
