Ariana Afghan Airlines Transported Over 38,000 Passengers in 1 Month

DID Press: Ariana Afghan Airlines reported transporting more than 38,000 passengers and nearly 700 tons of cargo in the month of Hamal, highlighting an uptick in Afghanistan’s air transport activity.

According to the General Directorate of State-Owned Companies, Ariana Afghan Airlines carried 38,354 passengers and moved 673 metric tons of goods during the reporting period.

The airline operated international flights to destinations including Delhi, Islamabad, Dubai, Istanbul, Ankara, Jeddah, and Moscow, while domestic routes connected Kabul with Kandahar, Herat, and Mazar-i-Sharif.

Officials said that of the total cargo transported, 405 tons were exports and 268 tons were imports, reflecting ongoing trade activity through air corridors.

Authorities described the performance as an indication of improved operational capacity, technical readiness, and gradual development of the country’s aviation infrastructure, with potential impact on trade and economic connectivity.

In recent years, Ariana has sought to expand both its fleet capacity and flight network in an effort to strengthen passenger confidence and improve service delivery across domestic and international routes.

Officials expressed optimism that this upward trend in passenger and cargo volumes will continue in the coming months.
