2 TOLOnews Journalists Detained in Kabul
DID Press: Two journalists working for TOLOnews have reportedly been detained in Kabul, raising renewed concerns over press freedom and the safety of media workers in Afghanistan.

According to reports, journalist Mansoor Niazi disappeared last Thursday from Kabul’s District 3, before his family later confirmed that he had been taken into custody.
Another TOLOnews journalist, (Imran Danish), was also reportedly detained by security forces. Both journalists are said to have worked as Pashto-language news presenters for the network.
The reasons behind their detention remain unclear, and security authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the case.
TOLOnews confirmed the detention of the two employees on Sunday, three days after the incident. The outlet initially described the case as an “arrest,” but later amended its report, stating that the journalists were “under custody.”
The network said security officials informed them that further details would be released after legal procedures are completed. However, no information has yet been disclosed regarding possible charges or the current condition of the journalists.
The development comes shortly after media support organization AMSO reported that Taliban intelligence authorities had also detained Ahmad Javid Niazi, head of the Paygard News Agency.
The arrests have intensified concerns among rights groups and media advocates over the shrinking space for independent journalism in Afghanistan. According to previous reports, at least six other journalists remain in Taliban custody.
