Taliban Approves 15 Infrastructure Projects Worth AFN 4.2B

DID Press: National Procurement Commission of the Taliban, chaired by the deputy prime minister for economic affairs, has approved 15 development and infrastructure projects worth approximately 4.2 billion Afghanis and endorsed amendments to seven additional projects.

According to a statement from the prime minister’s office, the approved projects cover sectors including infrastructure, public health, and energy.

Among the key projects are geotechnical studies for the Zardalo Dam in Ghazni Province, construction of a 14-kilometer road near Hairatan Port in Balkh Province, and a road linking the first phase of the Kabul–Logar highway to the Sang-e-Naweshta area.

The commission also approved the construction of public hospitals in several districts, including Lalash in Faryab Province, Andar in Ghazni, Kajran in Daykundi Province, Bala Murghab in Badghis Province, Khamard in Bamyan Province, and Musa Khel in Khost Province.

In the energy sector, the commission also approved completion works for several ongoing electricity transmission and distribution projects across different provinces, aimed at improving access to power supply.

Officials said the approved projects will proceed to implementation after completing legal and administrative procedures and are expected to generate employment opportunities during their execution.
