Taliban Launches Door-to-Door Search Operation in Kabul’s District 9

DID Press: Sources in Kabul say Taliban forces have launched a large-scale house-to-house search operation in District 9 following reported clashes near Kabul airport overnight.

Local residents reported that Taliban units deployed heavily across the area early Sunday, 3 Jawza, sealing off all entry and exit routes before conducting coordinated searches in residential neighborhoods.

Witnesses said security forces are inspecting homes and checking pedestrians at multiple checkpoints, significantly restricting movement and disrupting daily life.

According to residents, Taliban personnel entered different parts of the district from around 10 p.m. the previous night and began systematic searches, requesting permission to inspect houses thoroughly.

Sources also confirmed that female personnel were deployed alongside Taliban units to conduct searches involving women and verify identities inside homes.

While details of the initial clash, including casualties or damages, remain unclear, residents say the Taliban have cited the incident as the reason for the expanded security operation.

As of publication, Taliban authorities have not issued an official statement on the scope of the operation or any individuals being sought. Residents say the searches are ongoing and continue to affect daily activities.
