Deadly Shooting Reported at Sarai Shahzada Currency Market in Kabul

DID Press: Local sources report a deadly armed attack at Sarai Shahzada, the largest currency trading hub in Kabul, where an armed assailant opened fire on several people before fleeing the scene.

Witnesses said a gunman armed with a Kalashnikov entered the market on Sunday, 3 Jawza, and began shooting at individuals inside the busy commercial complex.

According to eyewitness accounts, the attacker fired multiple rounds before escaping, while Taliban authorities had not issued any immediate response at the time of reporting.

Local sources confirmed that there were both fatalities and injuries in the incident, although the exact number of casualties remains unclear. One source suggested the attack may have been linked to an armed robbery.

Sarai Shahzada is the main currency exchange center in Kabul, hosting hundreds of traders daily and has previously been targeted in armed attacks and robberies.

No official statement has yet been released by Taliban authorities regarding the incident.
