China Praises Pakistan’s Role in Middle East Peace Efforts

DID Press: China has commended Pakistan for its role in supporting peace efforts in the Middle East during a high-level meeting in Beijing between the two countries’ leaders.

Shehbaz Sharif met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing to discuss expanding strategic, economic, and security cooperation, as well as regional and global developments.

Xi Jinping described bilateral relations as an “unbreakable traditional friendship” and said global changes would not affect Pakistan’s special position in China’s foreign policy.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s support for peace initiatives in the Middle East and called for deeper security cooperation between the two countries.

Xi emphasized the importance of joint efforts against unilateralism and what he termed a “Cold War mentality,” reaffirming close coordination between Beijing and Islamabad in international affairs.

Sharif, in turn, congratulated China on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, calling the two nations “iron brothers.”

He praised China’s economic and military progress under Xi’s leadership and highlighted Beijing’s role in promoting global peace and stability.

The Pakistani prime minister also described the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as key pillars of shared development and prosperity.

He further noted ongoing Iran–U.S. talks, saying negotiations are progressing in a positive direction.
