DID Press: Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that its Aerospace Force carried out a missile strike on a U.S. airbase in response to an attack on a communications tower in Iran’s southern Sirik, claiming the targeted facility was destroyed.

In an official statement issued early Sunday, the IRGC said that shortly after what it described as a U.S. strike on a communications infrastructure site in Sirik, its forces launched a retaliatory operation against the origin base of the attack.
The statement described the U.S. action as “an act of aggression” and said Iran’s response was executed “within the shortest possible time,” targeting pre-designated objectives with precision.
The IRGC Aerospace Force warned that any further attacks would be met with a “completely different response,” adding that responsibility for the consequences would lie with what it called the “aggressor regime.”
Given Sirik’s strategic location near the Strait of Hormuz, analysts note that any escalation in the area could have broader regional and international security implications.
