Eid Traffic Accidents in Eastern Afghanistan Leave 22 Dead and Injured

DID Press: Authorities in eastern Afghanistan provinces of Kunar and Nuristan reported that a series of traffic accidents during Eid al-Adha holidays left a total of 22 people killed and injured.

Local traffic officials in Kunar said multiple road accidents occurred across different parts of the province during the holiday period, resulting in two fatalities and 14 injuries. Emergency teams were dispatched to the scenes, and the wounded were transferred to nearby health facilities for treatment.

Officials attributed most of the incidents to reckless driving, excessive speeding, and the poor condition of mountainous roads.

Combined figures from both provinces indicate that the total number of casualties from traffic incidents during Eid al-Adha reached 22 people killed and injured.

Traffic accidents remain a persistent challenge in Afghanistan’s mountainous and hard-to-reach regions, with incidents often increasing during religious holidays and public vacation periods.
