Russia Pushes for Visa-Free Travel with Afghanistan to Expand Trade

DID Press: Rustam Habibulin has proposed abolishing visa requirements between Russia and Afghanistan to facilitate expanded economic and commercial cooperation.

According to reports from “Info Kazan,” the proposal was made ahead of the upcoming St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Habibulin said Russian companies are already active in Afghanistan’s oil, petroleum refining, and natural resource extraction sectors, and that removing visa barriers would significantly ease trade flows and increase mobility for business representatives.

The initiative is presented as part of broader efforts to deepen economic engagement between Moscow and Kabul amid growing bilateral cooperation.
