DID Press: Afghanistan’s national wushu team will compete in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Wushu Championships in China, with a delegation comprising six athletes and one coach, according to the Afghanistan Wushu Federation.

The federation announced that the team has been selected to represent Afghanistan at the regional tournament, which will bring together competitors from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Officials said the event is aimed at strengthening sporting exchanges among SCO countries and raising the technical standards of athletes through high-level international competition.
The Afghanistan Wushu Federation noted that participation in the championship forms part of its broader development strategy to provide athletes with greater international exposure and competitive experience.
The tournament is expected to offer Afghan competitors an opportunity to test their skills against some of the region’s strongest wushu practitioners while enhancing Afghanistan’s presence in international martial arts events.
