Herat University Library Upgraded With TIKA Support

DID Press: The library of the Faculty of Education at Herat University has been equipped and officially inaugurated with financial support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), officials confirmed.

University authorities said the project was implemented at a cost of one million Afghanis with assistance from TIKA and support from the university’s financial and administrative department, aimed at improving academic resources for students and faculty members.

Former TIKA head Arif Deniz said during the inauguration ceremony that the agency has consistently worked to strengthen educational and research capacities in Afghan universities through scientific and cultural projects.

Turkish Consul General in Herat, Tuzcan Gazioglu, also welcomed the initiative, stressing the importance of continued scientific and cultural cooperation between Türkiye and Afghanistan.

He added that Ankara considers expanding educational collaboration with Afghanistan a priority in bilateral relations.

Officials described the project as a step toward improving educational infrastructure and enhancing academic exchange between the two countries.
