Gaza Health Crisis: 1,500 Patients Die Awaiting Treatment

DID Press: More than 1,500 patients in Gaza Strip have died while waiting for specialized medical treatment and evacuation outside the territory, health officials said, as the healthcare system continues to face severe shortages and mounting pressure.

Health authorities in Gaza said many patients requiring urgent care, including cancer patients, war-wounded individuals and people with chronic illnesses, lost their lives due to restrictions on medical transfers and the collapse of treatment capacity inside the territory.

Officials added that thousands of other patients remain on waiting lists for approval to leave Gaza and access medical services abroad. The situation has placed additional strain on the remaining hospitals and medical workers operating under difficult conditions.

International humanitarian and health organizations have repeatedly warned about the deteriorating healthcare situation in Gaza and called for urgent measures to facilitate the evacuation and treatment of patients in critical condition.
