Afghanistan Launches First Rapid DNA Identification System
DID Press: The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior has announced the launch of Afghanistan’s first Rapid DNA Identification System, marking a new step in expanding the country’s forensic capabilities.

The system was inaugurated at the Biological and DNA Laboratory of the Criminal Techniques Directorate during a ceremony attended by senior Taliban officials, including the head of the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs and the ministry’s deputy minister for administration.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the new technology is expected to improve the accuracy of criminal investigations, accelerate suspect identification, help protect innocent individuals, and provide scientifically verified evidence for judicial and prosecutorial authorities.
Officials described the initiative as a significant advancement in strengthening forensic expertise and supporting the country’s criminal justice process through modern DNA-based identification technology.
