DID Press: An Israeli military analyst has warned that severe equipment deterioration and shortages of spare parts are affecting the operational capabilities of the Israeli military, creating growing logistical challenges for its forces.

Avi Ashkenazi, a military analyst for the Hebrew-language newspaper Maariv, said Israeli army maneuver units are facing significant shortages of spare parts for armored vehicles, a situation that has affected the pace and effectiveness of military operations.
According to Ashkenazi, the shortage has forced some Israeli soldiers to carry heavy combat equipment manually and move through parts of operational areas on foot.
The analyst also referred to previous reports highlighting the deterioration of tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other military equipment, as well as the need for extensive maintenance and reconstruction.
Ashkenazi said the Israeli military is also facing additional challenges, including shortages of combat personnel, budget constraints, and widespread fatigue among troops.
He added that tanks, military vehicles, and parts of the air fleet require major repairs, refurbishment, and modernization to maintain operational readiness.
