Afghanistan, Iran Expand Talks on Consular and Border Cooperation
DID Press: Afghanistan and Iran have discussed expanding consular services, strengthening bilateral relations and improving coordination on border issues during a meeting between officials from both sides.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban administration’s foreign minister, met with Vahid Jalalzadeh, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for consular affairs, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Kabul and Tehran.
The two sides reviewed measures to facilitate consular services for Afghan and Iranian citizens and improve coordination on issues related to their shared border.
Muttaqi emphasized the need for faster and more accessible consular services based on accepted standards, describing relations between Afghanistan and Iran as expanding.
Jalalzadeh also highlighted the importance of continued consular coordination and expressed hope that ongoing discussions would improve services for citizens and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
