OCHA: Investing in Girls’ Education Means Investing in Afghanistan’s Future
DID Press: UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan has warned that depriving girls of education threatens the country’s future, emphasizing that investment in girls’ education is an investment in Afghanistan’s long-term development.

OCHA quoted a woman from Bamyan Province as saying: “I fear my daughter will have no future.”
The UN agency said education creates hope and opportunities, stressing that ensuring access to learning for girls is essential for building a stronger and more prosperous Afghanistan.
The statement comes amid continued restrictions on girls’ education in Afghanistan, which humanitarian organizations say have created serious social and economic consequences for millions of Afghan girls and their families.
