Russia, North Korea Accuse US of Driving Global Security Tensions

DID Press: Russia and North Korea have accused the United States and its allies of being the primary drivers of worsening security conditions in Northeast Asia and beyond, according to a statement issued by Russia’s Foreign Ministry following talks between the two countries’ top diplomats.

The statement was released after a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui. According to the ministry, both sides agreed that what they described as the United States’ and its allies’ “provocative military activities” around the Korean Peninsula are the principal cause of escalating regional tensions.

The two ministers also emphasized that expanding bilateral cooperation between Russia and North Korea could contribute to strengthening regional and international security while supporting the emergence of a multipolar world order based on equality, mutual respect, and shared interests.

The remarks come amid deepening political and military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang, as both countries continue to face growing tensions with Western nations over regional security and geopolitical disputes.
