Taliban Confirms Killing of Badakhshan Information Chief
DID Press: Taliban authorities have confirmed that Zabihullah Amiri, the group’s Director of Information and Culture in Badakhshan Province, was killed in an armed attack on Tuesday morning along the Baharak–Fayzabad highway.

According to the Taliban’s police command in Badakhshan, Amiri was attacked by two assailants riding a motorcycle while traveling on the route. His security guards reportedly killed one of the attackers, while efforts are continuing to identify and apprehend the second suspect.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The killing comes amid a recent increase in armed attacks in Badakhshan, where anti-Taliban groups, including the Afghanistan Freedom Front, have reportedly stepped up their operations.
