Armed Attack Kills Tribal Elder and Nephew in Afghanistan’s Nimroz
DID Press: An armed attack by unidentified gunmen in Zaranj city, the capital of Nimroz province, has killed a tribal elder and his nephew, while leaving two others injured, according to the provincial police command.

Police officials said the incident occurred in the “60th Street” area of Zaranj, where armed assailants opened fire on four people. The attack resulted in the deaths of Abdul Khaliq Noorzai, a prominent tribal elder, and his nephew, while two other individuals were wounded.
Authorities said the attack took place on Monday, August 3, and investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the shooting and identify the perpetrators.
The incident comes amid reports of rising security concerns and increased armed attacks in several parts of Afghanistan in recent weeks.
