Taliban Prioritizes Regional Economic Integration

DID Press: Taliban says strengthening regional partnerships through economic cooperation, trade, and connectivity remains a central pillar of its foreign policy as Afghanistan seeks closer engagement with neighboring countries.

Speaking on the Taliban’s regional strategy, spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Afghanistan is working to deepen relations with regional states on the basis of mutual interests, economic cooperation, and enhanced connectivity.

He said cooperation with neighboring countries—particularly in trade, transit, investment, and regional connectivity projects—remains among the Taliban administration’s key priorities.Mujahid added that Kabul’s foreign policy is focused on building constructive regional ties aligned with what he described as Afghanistan’s national interests.

He also said Afghanistan aims to leverage its strategic geographic location and economic potential to expand regional cooperation, while reiterating that Afghan territory will not be used to threaten or undermine any other country.

According to Mujahid, stronger regional partnerships could help expand trade, improve transport links, and create new economic opportunities for Afghanistan.
