Taliban Reshuffles Senior Officials in Judiciary, Finance and Mining

DID Press: Taliban has announced a broad reshuffle of senior officials across Afghanistan’s judicial, administrative, financial and mining institutions, with the appointments approved by the group’s leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the appointments include changes to key leadership positions in the judiciary, government administration, finance, mining, provincial administration and religious institutions.

Among the judicial appointments, Mawlawi Mohammad Gul Sayad was named Deputy for Military Affairs at the Supreme Court, while Sheikh Sardar Mohammad Abul Faizan was appointed head of the Central Dar al-Ifta. Sheikh Khair Jan Khairkhwa was assigned as Deputy Minister for Military Affairs at the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.

In the financial and administrative sector, Haji Nematullah Hassan was appointed Deputy Minister for Revenue and Customs at the Ministry of Finance. Mawlawi Mohammad Ishaq Sahibzada became Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Mines, while Mawlawi Abdul Matin Saeed and Mawlawi Mahmood Shah Zahid were appointed as deputies overseeing geological surveys and technical affairs.

Provincial changes included the appointment of Mawlawi Saifuddin Taib as Deputy Governor of Kandahar, while Mullah Mohammad Sadiq Enqalabi was named head of the Ministry of Mines’ Mine Protection Directorate.

Additional appointments were announced within the Central Dar al-Ifta, military courts, higher education and intelligence-related institutions as part of the wider restructuring.

The Taliban described the changes as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen governance, improve institutional coordination and enhance the efficiency of state administration.
