Seven Afghanistan Provinces Face Heavy Rain, Storms and Flood Risks

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and possible flash floods in seven provinces, including Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost and Paktika.

The department said on Saturday that rainfall levels in some areas are expected to range between 10 and 35 millimeters, warning residents to remain cautious due to the risk of sudden flooding.

The weather authority also forecast strong winds across central, eastern, southern, southeastern and western parts of Afghanistan, with wind speeds expected to reach between 50 and 95 km per hour.

Officials have urged residents in affected areas, particularly those living near rivers and vulnerable locations, to take precautionary measures against possible weather-related hazards.
