China’s Afghanistan Envoy Visits Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan
DID Press: Yue Xiaoyong, China’s Special Envoy for Afghan Affairs, visited Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan during a 10-day regional tour, meeting officials in the three countries. The visit comes amid growing security and political challenges between Kabul and Islamabad.

China’s Foreign Ministry said Yue Xiaoyong, the country’s special envoy for Afghan affairs, traveled to Türkiye, Pakistan and Afghanistan from July 30 to August 8, 2026.
At his first stop, Yue met with Jihad Erginay, Director General for South Asian Affairs at Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry, in Ankara and discussed issues of mutual interest.
Yue then traveled to Islamabad and Kabul, where he exchanged views with officials from the two countries on ways to improve and develop relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
China’s Foreign Ministry did not provide further details about the meetings. However, the visit comes as relations between Kabul and Islamabad face serious security and political challenges.
The diplomatic tour highlights Beijing’s efforts to play a more active role in managing regional crises and strengthening political and security cooperation surrounding Afghanistan.
