Afghanistan Chambers Sign MoU to Establish Joint-Stock Company

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Chamber of Industries and Mines signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to establish a joint-stock company aimed at financing major economic and infrastructure projects.

The agreement was signed in Kabul in the presence of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s deputy prime minister for economic affairs, at the government’s Media and Information Center.

Baradar said the creation of the joint-stock company would help implement large-scale economic and infrastructure projects and expand investment in Afghanistan, describing the initiative as a structured mechanism for supporting the country’s future economic development.

He emphasized the private sector’s role alongside the Taliban administration in increasing production, creating jobs, expanding exports and financing major projects. According to Baradar, capital from traders and industrialists would be pooled under a legal and transparent framework and directed toward infrastructure projects.

Baradar also claimed that the Taliban had created a secure environment for investors and taken steps to remove obstacles, simplify administrative procedures and provide legal and economic facilities. He called on traders and investors to combine their resources and invest jointly in Afghanistan’s economic development.

The MoU is expected to create new investment opportunities and facilitate the implementation of infrastructure projects through the proposed joint-stock company.
