DID Press: United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has confirmed that at least 42 children, aged between 9 and 14, were injured in an explosion at an educational center in Kabul’s western Dasht-e-Barchi area on Monday evening.

UNAMA expressed solidarity with the injured children and their families and called for a comprehensive investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The UN mission stressed that schools and educational facilities must remain safe spaces for children and be protected from violence and harm.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
