Rocket Strikes Near Taliban Provincial Headquarters in Faizabad
DID Press: A rocket struck near the Taliban provincial administration building in Faizabad, Badakhshan, on Wednesday evening, according to local sources. The blast was followed by about 10 minutes of sustained gunfire in the surrounding area.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and Taliban officials have not issued an official statement. Local sources said Taliban forces temporarily blocked roads leading to the provincial administration building after the incident and imposed tighter security measures in the area. No information was immediately available on possible casualties or property damage.
The incident comes amid a series of recent attacks targeting the Taliban in Faizabad. On Tuesday, a vehicle belonging to Habib-ur-Rahman Mansour, the Taliban-appointed mayor of Faizabad, was targeted in an explosion near the governor’s office. The National Resistance Front claimed responsibility for that attack.
Two days earlier, local sources also reported an attack by unidentified gunmen on a Taliban security checkpoint in the Dawaba area.
The repeated incidents highlight the fragile security situation in Faizabad and parts of Badakhshan, where anti-Taliban groups have reportedly increased their activities in recent weeks.
