DID Press: Pakistan’s military says 11 members of the group it refers to as “Fitna al-Hindustan” were killed during intelligence-based operations in Balochistan on September 6 and 7.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during an operation in Kharan, Pakistani forces thwarted an attempt by the militants to block a road, killing eight of them.
In a separate operation in Washuk, three militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces. The military also said about 2.9 tonnes of explosives intended for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices were recovered.
The Pakistani military said counterterrorism operations in Balochistan would continue under the Azm-e-Istehkam plan.
The figures and characterization of the militants in the report are based on the Pakistani military’s account. Recent Pakistani military statements have similarly used the term “Fitna al-Hindustan” for militants in Balochistan.
